Female entrepreneur? Well, I think that is fun because as never before, females are becoming a part of the entrepreneurial loom both here in Nigeria and worldwide. The reasons and contributing factors for this are numerous, but it is changing the fact f business. Even the bible had some women who thrived in business. Hope you allowed. So let me show you some example; in Acts 16:14, you can read it up but I will paraphrase it. It said, “And a certain woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth.”
This is interesting but here is another in Luke 8:3, “Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod’s household: Susanna and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.” She was good.
Here is the fact, the 2006 Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). Report on women and Entrepreneurship revealed some interesting characteristics of women route to self-employment.
Female entrepreneurs worldwide are much more likely than their male entrepreneurs to start their own business when still employed. The question is does this have any benefit to turns of resources and social capital? The answer is yes it does and not that, it acts as a safety net as out female folks express less confidence in their entrepreneurial ventures than men.
The report showed that early stage entrepreneurship in women continues to grow globally although start up rate is still higher among men. Now if you are a man reading this, I want you to give THEM a cool SARCASM LAGHTER because we are still on top. They aren’t gonna catch up with us. Isn’t that right?
For the ladies no offense meant just relax and laugh back. It your turn because the report also that more than a third of people involved in entrepreneurial activity are woman. Here is the big blow that we the male folks gave them, the male/ female gap is still significant especially is high income countries and technology-intense sectors.
